What is an LED?

The word LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. Each modern LED light is made up of hundreds of these micro-size Light Emitting Diode’s which are weaved into a cluster. LED’s are highly energy efficient and contain no flimsy filaments. Enclosed within a durable casing, the light is projected through magnified lenses to acquire larger beams light which are then dispersed according to the chosen lens degree selected. LED bulbs radiate into their surroundings very little heat, and in fact, the aluminium cooling fins common to most LED lamps, are solely there to disperse the heat from the LED itself. New LED technology has made LEDs to be universally recognised as the one of the most energy efficient lighting sources of the 20th century.

It our belief that most forms of lighting as we now know it, will in the future be converted to some form of LED light source. The modern world can no longer afford to waste electrical power and as LEDs on average convert 80% of their power directly to lighting energy, they have got to be mans most popular choice for lighting in the future. As LED lights have no filaments which burn out or gasses which deteriorate over time, the average life expectance of the LED is 30,000 to 50,000Hrs The highly durable LED lamp has no fragile casing and instead is equipped with a technologically advanced aluminium casing, thus making LED’s highly resistant to shock, heat and moreover prolonging the LED’s bulb life. These unique and innovative features of LED’s will decrease your maintenance costs, cooling cost and in the long run save you copious amounts of time and money.
